Carss Park Straw Bale Shed is a unique venue located within the tranquil surrounds of Carss Park Community Garden that is only hireable by registered not-for-profit organisations.
The venue is suitable for small meetings / workshops, with features of a kitchenette and covered patio area flowing on to the Carss Park Community Garden.
In keeping with the sustainability ethos of the gardens, the venue walls were built from straw bales, recycled tyres were used in the foundation, and lime render used in place of cement. The timber within the venue was sourced from plantation-grown Paulownia. The venue also includes rainwater tanks and a 'truth window' to show visitors the straw bale construction of the walls.

Please note that all charges have been calculated in accordance with Council’s schedule of fees and charges for the financial year and are subject to change on 1 July every year.
